Abstract The purpose of this project is to develop a computer vision-based cashew nut classification and segregation system. The computer vision-based cashew classification system is an alternative to the manual and mechanical methods. Computer vision-based method offers automated, high speed and cost effective solution for classification. This system offers Automatic classification and segregation of cashews on the production line. The computer vision system has good speed and accuracy which satisfies the ever-increasing quality requirements, hence aiding in the development of an automated process. An intelligent classification system based on computer vision system can be developed for automated grading and sorting to speed up the classification of cashew kernels. This will solve the major problems of many of the cashew export industries and also gives justice to the cashew growing farmers in-accurate grading.
