Abstract With the exponential growth of population the need of processing biological data is also increasing. So it will ultimately lead to more time in processing these large amount of data. The use of GPU as general purpose graphics processing unit(GPGPU) has expanded in last few years. Recent GPUs are capable of performing very complex task with immense performance improvement. We work on developing efficient algorithms for DNA sequence assembly and alignment for CUDA enabled GPU.
