The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the MESA Club, organized an industrial visit to the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (IACE), Gandhinagar for Semester 6 students and members of the Evora Club. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to modern automobile engineering technologies and industry practices.
The session began with an introduction to IACE, its objectives, and its contribution to skill development and advanced training in the automobile sector. Students explored various sections of the institute, including safety equipment, automobile structures, electric vehicle technology, automobile systems, paint shop processes, automation, and Industry 4.0 applications.
Participants observed cross-sections of vehicles such as Toyota Fortuner and Audi, studied systems like steering, suspension, and V6 engine models, and gained insights into EV assembly and working principles. The visit also included demonstrations of KUKA KR industrial robots, automated painting techniques, and the use of CAD and Augmented Reality (AR) in automobile engineering.
The industrial visit provided students with valuable practical knowledge of automobile systems, electric vehicles, automation technologies, and modern industrial practices, enhancing their technical understanding and industry exposure.
