Two-day Workshop on CAPACITY BUILDING ON WEB and NETWORK SECURITY

The two-day workshop on "CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON WEB & NETWORK SECURITY", organized by the CAWACH Kendra – Institute Level, TCF (The Cyber Force - an institute level student driven club) and IT Department, aimed provide students with practical exposure to cybersecurity concepts and tools. The event focused on bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world practices through expert sessions and hands-on demonstrations. The workshop intended to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical experience in web and network security. It helped participants understand real-world cybersecurity practices and encouraged responsible digital behaviour. The two-day cybersecurity workshop provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to fundamental concepts of cybersecurity and ethical hacking. Participants were introduced to important network ports and protocols and their role in securing communication. A hands-on session using Kali Linux and the Nmap tool allowed students to perform basic network scanning and understand how security professionals analyze network vulnerabilities. On the second day, the workshop focused on common system and web vulnerabilities, attack methods, and essential web security concepts along with the fundamentals of ethical hacking. Live demonstrations were conducted to showcase vulnerability scanning techniques and possible mitigation strategies. The workshop also emphasized cyber hygiene practices to promote safe online behavior. Overall, the event offered valuable industry insights from cybersecurity professionals, practical demonstrations of security assessment tools, and an enhanced understanding of common ports such as 22, 80, and 443, concluding with an interactive Q&A session and certificate distribution for participants.
