Expert talk on Engineers of Tomorrow Shaping India 2047

07 February, 2026

The Electrical Engineering Department of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC) organized an expert talk for 8th Semester students on “Engineers of Tomorrow: Shaping India @2047”. The primary objective of this expert lecture was to sensitize final-year electrical engineering students to India’s long-term vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047 and to highlight the critical role young engineers will play in achieving this goal. The session aimed to broaden students’ perspectives beyond academics and placements by emphasizing the importance of professional ethics, social responsibility, innovation, and leadership in engineering practice. Another key objective was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry expectations by providing insights into emerging technologies, evolving industrial trends, and the competencies required for future-ready engineers. The lecture also sought to motivate students to adopt a mindset of lifelong learning, research orientation, and entrepreneurship, while encouraging them to align their technical expertise with national priorities such as sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive growth. Overall, the objective was to inspire students to view engineering not merely as a career, but as a meaningful contribution toward nation-building and societal development
