Basic Rock Climbing Course Participation by NSS VGEC Volunteers

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC) proudly acknowledges the successful completion of the Basic Rock Climbing Course by two of its dedicated volunteers. This intensive 10-day training program was conducted at the Mountain Training Centre, Junagadh, from 19th September to 28th September 2023.

Participants :

  • Pooja Patel (5th Semester, Civil Engineering Department)
  • Athira Rajeev (3rd Semester, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department)

Course Overview :

  • The course provided rigorous training in basic rock climbing techniques, safety measures, and endurance building.
  • Participants were trained in rappelling, bouldering, climbing knots, and rescue operations.
  • The program emphasized physical fitness, mental resilience, and teamwork.
  • It was conducted under the guidance of certified mountaineering instructors.

Objectives :

  • To enhance physical and mental endurance among students.
  • To equip volunteers with fundamental rock-climbing skills and safety knowledge.
