National Integration Camp 2024

The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from Gujarat Technological University (GTU) successfully participated in the National Integration Camp 2024 organized by Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana from 11th October 2024 to 17th October 2024. The camp was conducted to promote cultural exchange, national unity, and youth development among participants from across the nation.

Activity Overview :

  • The camp brought together 200+ participants from 20+ universities across 16 states of India for a week-long residential programme.
  • The GTU delegation comprised 8 NSS volunteers and 1 Programme Officer led by Nimesh Prajapati.
  • The event featured comprehensive technical sessions, cultural competitions, community service activities, and educational excursions.
  • The celebration focused on promoting "Youth for My Bharat" through active participation in nation-building activities.

Objectives :

  • To celebrate national integration and foster unity among youth from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • To promote digital literacy and equip participants with essential cyber safety knowledge.
  • To instill a sense of cultural appreciation and heritage preservation among the youth.
  • To develop leadership qualities and soft skills through interactive sessions and team-building activities.
  • To demonstrate community service and social responsibility through collective action.

Key Highlights :

Inaugural Ceremony :

The camp commenced with a formal inauguration ceremony graced by the Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University, State NSS Officer, and other distinguished dignitaries who shared inspiring visions for national integration.

Technical Sessions :

  • Digital Literacy Workshop : Focused on cyber safety, online resource utilization, and digital financial management.
  • Motivational and Soft Skill Development : Interactive sessions on leadership, communication, and team management.
  • Financial Literacy : Practical knowledge about banking, digital payments, and investment awareness.
  • Legal Literacy and Cyber Laws : Essential understanding of legal rights and online safety measures.
  • History of Modern India : Comprehensive overview of freedom struggle and nation-building process.

Cultural Excursion to Kurukshetra :

  • A memorable educational trip to the historically significant Kurukshetra region was organized.
  • 200+ participants visited sacred sites including Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre, Krishna Museum, and Jyotisar.
  • The excursion aimed to connect participants with India's rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
  • The visit to Jyotisar, birthplace of Bhagavad Gita, provided deep insights into timeless Indian wisdom and philosophy.

Fine Arts and Sports Competitions :

Vibrant competitions were organized including Elocution, Rangoli Making, Poster Making, Clay Modelling, Short Video Making, and various sports events that promoted healthy competition and creative expression among participants.

Community Service Activity :

Shramdaan was conducted from 6 :00 AM to 7 :00 AM involving campus cleaning, tree planting, and other environmental conservation activities, instilling social responsibility among volunteers.

Cultural Exchange Programme :

  • A magnificent Mega Cultural Eve (एकता पर्व) showcased diverse folk dances, traditional music, and regional performances.
  • Rally and Street Play (भाव का भारत) allowed participants to express patriotism through creative performances.
  • Bonfire and Cultural Exchange evening facilitated sharing of traditional costumes, regional cuisines, and memorable experiences.

Volunteer Coordination :

NSS GTU volunteers played an active role in all camp activities, demonstrating excellent teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and leadership skills throughout the seven-day programme.

Community Impact :

The camp successfully created a platform for inter-state cultural exchange, breaking regional barriers and fostering lasting friendships among youth from diverse backgrounds. The experience significantly enhanced participants' understanding of India's cultural diversity and unity.
