The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC), Chandkheda participated in the National Integration Camp (NIC) 2024 hosted at Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, Gujarat from 8th to 14th November 2024. The camp aimed to promote national integration, unity, and cultural exchange amongst youth volunteers from different states of India, fostering discipline, leadership, and community service values.

Participation Details:

• The camp was conducted at Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan, Gujarat with participants from various states across India.
• Vaghri Tejal Bharatbhai from VGEC represented the college as a dedicated NSS volunteer in this prestigious national-level camp.
• The event featured cultural programmes, community service activities, competitions, educational sessions, and inter-state collaboration over seven intensive days.

Objectives:

• To develop national unity and integrity amongst youth from diverse cultural backgrounds across India.
• To encourage youth participation in community service and promote active involvement in social development activities.
• To promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between volunteers from different states and regions.
• To enhance discipline, leadership qualities, and teamwork through structured activities and collaborative programmes.

• Inauguration Ceremony: The camp commenced with formal introduction of participants and inspiring speeches by camp officers, creating an atmosphere of unity and national pride among all volunteers.
• Daily Discipline Activities: Regular yoga and physical training sessions were conducted to improve health, discipline, and mental well-being of all participants throughout the camp duration.
• Community Service (Shramdaan): Volunteers actively participated in cleanliness drives, plantation activities, and awareness rallies, demonstrating practical commitment to community development and social responsibility.
• Educational Sessions: The programme included comprehensive lectures and discussions on social issues, national integration, and youth responsibility, enabling participants to develop deeper understanding of national challenges and solutions.
• Cultural Exchange Programmes: Folk dances, songs, drama, and cultural performances by participants from different states showcased India's rich diversity and promoted inter-cultural appreciation.
• Competitive Excellence: Various competitions including poster-making, debate, and essay writing were organised, where Vaghri Tejal Bharatbhai achieved First Place in the Poster-Making Competition with her theme on "Viksit Bharat", bringing prestigious recognition to VGEC.
• Field Visits: Educational visits to historical places, nearby villages, and social organisations provided practical exposure to community development and heritage preservation.
