About the Club:
To enhance communication and employability skills of our engineering students, Mission English was initiated in February 2019. The objectives of the student-driven initiative are to enable students for their interaction in English and to boost their confidence through various activities; to make students comfortable in an English-speaking environment. It is coordinated by Dr Vaseem Qureshi (Assistant Professor, English, Science and Humanities Department, VGEC).

These sessions are scheduled every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and are led by student coordinators from various branches. Conduction of the Event:
The Mission English sessions held from July to October 2024 at the VGEC Language Lab continued to elevate students’ communication skills through uniquely designed student-led modules. Held every Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, each session offered an interactive and creative platform for learners to engage with English in fresh, fun, and practical ways.
The journey began on 31st July 2024 with Creative Responses, coordinated by Shashikala, Shivangi, and Dhrumil, where students practiced spontaneous speaking in dynamic scenarios. On 7th August, the session Words and Wonders guided by Aashtha, Vishwa, and Arjav, helped participants explore the magic and power of vocabulary. The 28th August event, Tale Teller: Unlock the Language Potential, conducted by Kairavi, Riya, and Megha, focused on storytelling as a tool to develop fluency and narrative skills.
As the sessions progressed, From Shy to Shine: Journey to Confident Speaking on 4th September, led by Lipi, Athira, and Shruti, empowered hesitant speakers to build confidence. The 11th September session Dialogue Delights, with Neonica, Vidhi, and Harsh, involved role-plays and skits to promote expressive conversations. Clever Clues on 18th September, conducted by Sneha, Divija, and Angel, combined puzzle-solving with language exercises to sharpen analytical English usage.
The series wrapped up with Hats on: Think Smart on 25th September, where Manjot, Priyanshi, and Dhairya challenged attendees to engage in smart language games, and *Whispers of When: Where the Rhymes Reveal on 9th October, a poetic conclusion guided by Hitarth, Aarya, and Ashish that unlocked creativity through rhyme-based expression.
Each of these sessions not only enhanced specific English language skills but also fostered teamwork, confidence, and enthusiasm in a fun-filled learning environment.
