The Mechanical Engineering Department of VGEC, Chandkheda, organized a one-day Hands-on Expert Session on “Modeling using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Software” on 15th September 2025. The session was conducted as part of the curriculum for the subject Machine Drawing and Elements of Machine Design.

The expert for the session was Mr. Jatin Patel from Khodiyar CAD Centre, who shared valuable insights and provided practical demonstrations on advanced modeling techniques. The session aimed to strengthen students’ CAD (Computer-Aided Design) skills, improve their understanding of modeling, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices.

A total of 85 students actively participated in the session. They were given hands-on exposure to 2D sketching, 3D part modeling, assembly design, and simulation tools in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. This practical approach helped students gain confidence in applying CAD tools for real-world engineering problems.
