Hands on Workshop on Model Rockets

20 January, 2025

The Mechanical Engineering Department, in collaboration with the VGEC Rocketry Team, successfully organized a Hands-on Workshop for students across various departments and colleges. The event was conducted in M Block, VGEC, Chandkheda, and aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of rocketry and the importance of space exploration. The workshop began with an engaging introduction to rockets, emphasizing why space exploration is crucial and the role of model rocketry in understanding and advancing this field.

Participants were then divided into three batches to explore the following aspects of rocketry in greater detail:

  1. Avionics Systems – Basics of electronics and data acquisition in rockets.
  2. Propulsion Systems – Insights into rocket engines and how they generate thrust.
  3. Structural Systems – Understanding the design and materials used in rocket construction.

The event culminated with an exciting live model rocket launch, leaving the attendees inspired and thrilled. Certificates of participation were distributed online to all the participants..
