IEEE VGEC Orientation 2023 - 24

IEEE VGEC Student Branch recently organised an orientation program & award ceremony for the students and the members. IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering) is a gateway to endless opportunities in the world of technology and engineering. This orientation report aims to shed light on the numerous benefits of joining IEEE and why students, in particular, should consider becoming members. The coordination of this event was excellently managed by IEEE VGEC Student members. This felicitation ceremony was also organized followed by Orientation Program to felicitate the hard work and efforts from the members IEEE VGEC SB Family.

 Discussion Points:

  •  In the beginning, the host of the event welcomed everyone with her warm and welcoming words. 
  • Dr. Hiren D Mehta, Faculty Head Counsellor of IEEE VGEC SB, explained how wider IEEE works.
  • Chairperson of the IEEE VGEC Student branch, Hetanshi Acharya explained what IEEE is about and what the IEEE Student branch is in brief. She also explained the hierarchy of IEEE works. 
  • Subsequently, all seven departments: R&D, Editorial, Design, Technical, Registration and Promotion, Decoration and Photography were explained and the heads of all departments briefed on how they manage and work. 
  • A few current IEEE members shared their experience as part of the IEEE VGEC student branch, how turned out to be beneficial for them, and how they embraced being a part of the VGEC IEEE family. 
  • Prof. Jasvant R. Dave, IEEE member and professor at VGEC IT department explained how IEEE helps in personality development, recruitment & how beneficial it is for our soft skills.
  • Prof. Jigna J. Jadav, our faculty advisor of IEEE VGEC SB, explained how communication, teamwork, and clear speech are important and how we can build them by just being part of the IEEE community. When the event came to an end few IEEE members were honoured with awards and certificates in the categories “The award of IEEE honour” and “The award of flock’s favourite”. 
  • The chairperson concluded the orientation by thanking all supporting faculty members, IEEE members and the audience.
