ATAL Approved FDP on - Recent Trends in Software Testing

    The Computer Engineering Department, VGEC organized a One Week AICTE ATAL (AICTE Training & Learning Academy) approved FDP on “Recent Trends in Software Testing” during 12th to 16th June 2021. The FDP consisted of 14 sessions by the experts from industry and from foreign organizations, IIITs, NITs, BITS and other reputed institutes. The FDP mainly focused on recent advances in software testing both from industry and academia. 104 participants from various institutes from 14 states attended this FDP. Dr K K Rana and Dr K S Patel were the event coordinators. The FDP was conducted on Microsoft Teams.

    The major objective of the FDP was to bring researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry together. To align the software testing platform with the current changes in the industry and to get theoretical and practical exposure to the recent trends in software testing through expert talks and hands-on sessions were also some of the other aims of the FDP.

    The FDP largely discussed various issues on the theme which included testing in an agile environment, Software Ecosystems as a challenge for Software testing, MC/DC testing, Concolic testing, testing in AI/ML world, testing of Web applications, software testing and Reliability Modelling Methods, Research advances in software testing, software testing of micro-services, software debugging process & advanced technique, software vulnerability testing using an open-source tool, cost benefits analysis of software fault prediction models, symbolic execution in software testing, Test Case Prioritization and Optimization Using Clustering etc. The FDP also carried out discussion about automated software testing using various tools like Selenium, JMeter, jCUTE, Nikto & NMap.
