Abstract Selective oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde is challenging one as there is a formation of side products such as benzoic acid or benzyl alcohol. Also, the impact of process parameters such as toluene to oxidant ratio, type of oxidants, temperature, time, catalyst amount and its type play a vital role in the synthesis of benzaldehyde. In this PoC, we are proposing the use of heterogeneous. Catalytic system for toluene oxidation. The product obtained is also isolated and characterized for its purity and for determination of other important properties. The impact of process variables and optimization protocol is also investigated in the proposed. Innovation.
