Engineering the Inner Leader – Wisdom, Willpower & the Gita Way

July 8, 2025

The eighth Central Expert Lecture under SIP 2025 brought a refreshing and transformational perspective to VGEC’s budding engineers through the words of Shri Divyasukta Das from ISKCON. Blending the power of the Bhagavad Gita with real-life challenges faced by students, he emphasized that true leadership begins within — through stable emotions, value-based choices, and mindful living.

In his calm yet compelling tone, he warned against digital distractions and the dopamine trap, urging students to reclaim their time, attention, and purpose. He spoke of mental discipline, spiritual resilience, and the idea that success without peace is incomplete. With relatable examples and soul-touching anecdotes, he redefined the student’s role not just as an engineer of machines but as an engineer of one’s own life.

Dr. I. N. Trivedi’s opening set the foundation for this dialogue, reminding students that thoughts are the architects of their future. The session ended not with applause alone — but with silence, reflection, and a newfound sense of balance among the students. From dopamine to dharma, Shri Divyasukta Das guided them through an unforgettable journey of becoming leaders — not just in labs, but in life.
