IP UTSAV Session-5 Significance of IP Protection and Commercialization

 The VGEC SSIP Cell, under the directives of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE, organized Session-5 of the week-long IP UTSAVA on 25th April 2025. The session focused on the “Significance of IP Protection and Commercialization” and was conducted by Electrical Engineering department. Expert speakers elaborated on the importance of safeguarding intellectual creations through various forms of IP, such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. They emphasized how IP protection encourages innovation and plays a crucial role in the research and development ecosystem. The session also covered the commercial aspects of IP, explaining how protected ideas can be monetized and brought to market through licensing, startups, and industry partnerships. At the end of the session, students were motivated to explore IP potential in their academic or entrepreneurial pursuits.
