A Visit to GTU Cyber Security Center

Computer Engineering Department organised the Visit for its students on 4th October, 2023, at the GTU Cyber Security Centre. The main objective of the visit was to make students aware about the sub-fields, tools, technologies in the field of cyber security. GTU Cyber Security Centre has the state of the art technology and the human capital to work on the real world issues related to Cyber Crime, Cyber Forensics etc. Additionally, the centre also offers the internships on the live cases to the students. The visit to the centre has given the insights into the career paths in the areas of cyber security. As the cybercrimes are increasing day by day, the industry demands more professionals trained in the field. The cyber security as a field is too vast. The students need to understand the various sub fields in the area. The visit provided them with the awareness, first-hand experience of the tools, the starting point to proceed further to build career in the area of cyber security.

  • Cyber Security is a vast field beyond hacking. It includes forensics, VAPT, Malware Analysis, Darkweb analysis etc. such fields. 
  • Everyone who is connected to a network or internet in this world is vulnerable to a cybercrime.
  • With a case study, students have understood the procedures the cybercrime department undertakes in order to proceed ahead for solving a case.
  • With the increase in the cybercrimes, the cyber security industry is expected to grow multi-fold and will require many cyber security professionals in the future.
  • Cyber Security is a vast field beyond hacking. It includes forensics, VAPT, Malware Analysis, Darkweb analysis etc. such fields. 
  •  Everyone who is connected to a network or internet in this world is vulnerable to a cybercrime 
  • Government regulation would mandate the organizations to have a Security Operations Centre (SOC) in the organizations with IT infrastructure. This would further increase the demand of the professionals in the field.
