The National Level Coding Competition “FRESHCODE 1.0” was organized by VGEC STUDENT BRANCH of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) in three phases on Hacker Rank Platform (Online). It was conducted on 24th April, 25th April and 1st May for three phases. For the student’s mentorship, one session was also arranged for a better understanding of Competitive Coding. Students Nidhi Mistry and Satyajeetsinh Parmar coordinated the event.
The prime objective of this coding competition was to provide a competitive environment for the participants to hone their coding skills and pave a path for their Programming Journey. To assess their understanding, coding questions revolved around the topics like arrays, functions, operators, looping, etc. were asked at the beginner level. To the intermediate & advanced level understanding of data structure and algorithms, the included questions were selected from probability, Euler formula, graph theory, greedy algorithms, Brute force etc.
Participants enthusiastically enjoyed this journey. Prit Manvar, 2nd Runner up speaks, “This was an amazing competition. It was full of fun & learning. I look forward to taking part in such competitions in future.” First year student Drishty Ganatra (CE) reacts to the event, “This initiative acted as fuel to the inception of deeper Competitive Programming culture among first-year mates. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of FreshCode.”
